Full Length vs Classic Haven — Which Length Suits You

The most common question we get is "which length should I get?" Here's how to choose between the Full Length Haven and the Classic Haven — both made with the same HavenFleece™ dual-layer construction. In between sits the Long Haven, at 130 cm (51 in) with a kangaroo pocket.

Full Length Haven — when the full length makes sense

Full Length is our flagship cut and the version most loyal customers come back for. It's the "I'm putting this on and I'm not taking it off" piece.

It works best for:

Couch evenings — feet tucked up, full coverage, no draughty gap at the knees
Reading in bed before sleep
Cold winter mornings when you want to wrap into one continuous warm layer
Anyone who runs cold all the time
Anyone who wants the most coverage

Classic Haven — when 96cm makes sense

The Classic Haven is the original cosy fit. It's our shorter adult cut, designed for movement.

It works best for:

Wearing around the kitchen, walking between rooms, going up and down stairs
School drop / pick-up where you don't want fabric dragging
Anyone who finds the Full Length too long to move around in
Anyone who finds Full Length too much fabric for moving around
Layering — easier to wear over jeans or pyjama bottoms without bulk

Finding your length

Where the hem sits depends on your height and shape, so we don't promise a set point. Here's how to check.

How to measure shoulder to hem

Stand up straight in socks or bare feet.
Hold the end of a tape measure at the top of your shoulder.
Let the tape run straight down the front of your body to where you'd like the hem to sit, and note the number.
Compare that number with our lengths above. They're all measured from the shoulder, so you're comparing like with like.

Our models' heights vary, so the same length can look longer or shorter from photo to photo. Your own measurement is the most reliable guide.

Pocket and pocket-style differences

Both Full Length and Classic include pockets, but the style differs slightly:

Full Length: two deep, lined front pockets. (The Long Haven has a kangaroo pocket instead.)
Classic: kangaroo pocket (in pullover styles) — a single front pouch that's good for keeping both hands warm in the same spot.

If you carry a phone or remote regularly when wearing it, a dual-pocket style is the more practical choice.

Warmth — both use HavenFleece™ (same fabric)

This is the key thing: the warmth is the same. Both cuts use HavenFleece™ double-layer construction — soft fleece outer with a plush sherpa lining inside, the same across body, sleeves, and hood.

You're not choosing between a warmer and a less-warm version. You're choosing between more coverage area and less coverage area, with the same per-square-inch warmth.

That said, more fabric covering more of your body means a slightly warmer total experience with the Full Length — especially across the legs.

Which longer Haven? Zip, pullover or Long Haven

If you've decided you want more length, there are three longer options.

Full Length Zip — 140 cm (55 in), two front pockets. For anyone who'd rather step in and zip up than pull it over their head. Our Starry Zip Havens currently come in Grey, Baby Blue and Pastel Pink. Browse them in Zip Havens.
Full Length pullover — 140 cm (55 in), two front pockets. The same length with a closed front and nothing to do up. Choose the star print in the Starry Elegance Haven (grey), Baby Blue or Pastel Pink, or go plain with the Navy Starry Elegance Haven, in solid navy with white trim.
Long Haven — 130 cm (51 in), kangaroo pocket. A separate pullover cut. It suits you if your measurement lands nearer this length, or you'd like a single front pocket. Choose Starry Haven, Deep Pink Long Haven or Navy Long Haven.

Is the Long Haven part of the Full Length range?

No. The Long Haven is its own pullover cut, 10 cm shorter than the Full Length, with a kangaroo pocket instead of two front pockets.
